HSU Athletic Director reacts after current and former football players stabbed
Humboldt State University Athletics is responding after a current and former football player were stabbed homecoming weekend.
“Anytime you hear student athletes involved in a situation that’s not healthy it always concerns the department and our coaching staff,” said University Athletic Director Dan Collen.
“I know that our thoughts and prayers go out to JJ and Chris for a speedy recovery. Every student signs a code of conduct. We do not want any situations that occur certainly to the level that this went to.”
Two student victims were both stabbed in the stomach on Stromberg Avenue early morning hours Sunday, September 29th while leaving a party. Arcata Police Officers said that as the investigation into the incident continues, they are dealing with people involved that might be afraid to cooperate because they don’t want to be punished by the university. Police say all tips will be kept confidential. They also say have some people of interest in the case.
The student victims are still recovering at Mad River Hospital.
