Faulkerson Hall at Humboldt State University is open to students ahead of schedule after being closed for emergency repairs. Construction is ongoing on the roof off the building but classes can be held in the room.
The recital hall was closed in August to fix a major structural beam in the building, and repairs were expected to take several weeks. The university says construction planning reduced that time.
The building will cost an estimated $200,000 and is believed to be due to seismic activity. The university said it will look to the California State University Chancellor's office for help paying the repairs if the universities insurance will not.
