HSU hosts summer program for international students
ARCATA- Several international students are taking classes at Humboldt State University over the summer. Students from China, Brazil and Saudi Arabia are part of the intensive language immersion program that introduces students to local culture and gets them involved in community service projects.
23 students are at the university from a partnership with the Jiangxi Institute of International Education at Nanchang University. The students stay for a three w eek period and have toured the redwoods, visited North Coast cities and will attend a crabs game.
Coordinators of the program say it is beneficial to students, the community and the university. Jenn Soderfelt with HSU's Center for International Programs said the students learn about customs and practices that they can bring home.
