HSU Students Recovering After Stabbing

ARCATA- The two Humboldt State University students who were stabbed are still in the hospital while police look for the suspect. Both were stabbed in a fight and had to undergo emergency surgery Sunday morning.


One of the victims is a Humboldt State football player and the other a former football player, both were at a party following the universities homecoming game.


Arcata Police responded to the 1500 block of Stromberg Ave. Sunday morning at around 2:00am of reports of a stabbing. Det. Sgt. Todd Dokweiler said the two were leaving a party when the two were stabbed on the street nearby.


The suspect is described as a  white male in their 20s, wearing a white long-sleeve thermal shirt, black baseball, and silver chain around his neck. The suspect fled the scene in a silver two door Nissan.


Arcata Police are working to locate witnesses of the stabbing and reviewing security footage at local businesses for more information.
