Huffman pens letter to new Postmaster General
Sacramento - Congressman Jared Huffman sent a letter to the new Postmaster General restating opposition to the US Postal Service’s desire to close the Eureka and Petaluma mail processing centers.
Huffman has continually opposed the plan first discussed back in 2011. He maintains that it will cause disruption of mail delivery, cause job loss and damage local economies.
The 2nd District Congressman said he was frustrated with the USPS’S refusal to provide requested information and their lack of interest in fully explaining the proposed changes without knowing the full financial impact of the action.
He asked the new Postmaster General, Megan Brennen, to halt any changes until a full analysis is complete and the public has had time to review.
