Humboldt Bay Fire presents check to local animal rescue

Redwood Pals Rescue received a check for $7,000 from an annual fundraiser.

Humboldt Bay Fire puts on ‘Bark in the Park’ each year as a way to raise money for local shelters.

This year Humboldt Bay Fire decided to donate the money to Redwood Pals Rescue in McKinleyville. Last year, the organization donated the money to the Humboldt Spay Neuter Network.

The fundraiser occurs the second week in October and has participants running and walking through Sequoia Park with their fury friend.

It’s a 5K event that offers music, raffle and a family fun atmosphere— all for a good cause.
