Humboldt County budget approved by Board of Supervisors
EUREKA- The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors approved the county’s 2014-2015 fiscal year budget Tuesday. At their meeting, the supervisors discussed new aspects of the budget, including a $375,000 one-time revenue. That money will go towards various updates to county programs and facilities.
The supervisors also acknowledged the community’s help in creating this year’s budget. The public was able to review the proposed document and make suggestions to the board during the drafting process. Several of those suggestions have been incorporated into the newly approved budget.
“We even received an award for that kind of approach to getting community input and I would like to see that kind of approach to getting the community input on other issues beside the budget so we'll see how we can do that in the future,” said 2nd District Supervisor Estelle Fennell.
