Humboldt County Supervisors to hear final update on McKay Tract Community Forest
HUMBOLDT COUNTY- Plans for the McKay Tract Community Forest in Eureka are moving forward.
The Humboldt County Board of Supervisors will hear the final update from staff at Tuesdays meeting. The proposed community forest is within an unincorporated area of the county just southeast of Eureka. The Green Diamond Company currently owns the property. Funding from both federal and state grants would cover costs of the first phase of the project, which includes around 1,000 acres. The board is expected to vote on funding to purchase the land on April 15th.
