Humboldt man killed in motorcycle vs. truck crash on Highway 36
The California Highway Patrol says a Humboldt county man was killed in a crash on Highway 36 near Bridgeville.
It happened just before two o’clock Friday afternoon about 20 miles from the Highway 101 interchange. Officers say the victim is believed to be in his 70’s, and was driving a Harley-Davidson motorcycle. Investigators say he was going through a right curve headed eastbound, when he laid his bike down, crossed over double yellow lines, and was hit by an oncoming Ford F150 pickup.
Officers say the 23-year-old McKinleyville woman inside the truck was uninjured.
The man on the motorcycle died at the scene.
