ARCATA- Students were evacuated from a Humboldt State University building late Monday morning after reports of an electrical fire inside the building. Arcata Fire responded on scene and did not locate a fire or proof of one.

Students were evacuated from the building before fire crews were on scene. Students reported smelling burning plastic said Justin McDonald, Assistant Fire Chief.

Firefighters used thermal imaging cameras to see if there were any fires behind outlets. Crews were put on the roof to look for any signs of fire from any equipment on top of the building. A total of three engines and one truck responded to the scene.
