The Avoid 7 DUI crackdown has resulted in a high number of arrests from local traffic enforcement and special deployments during the past several weeks. Seventy-one people have been arrested since December 13th through December 31st for driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs. The operation will continue until midnight Wednesday, January 1st.
In 2013, forty-eight people were arrested during the same time period. There are no additional special operations planned until super bowl Sunday in February.
