Eureka- A man dies at the Humboldt County Jail after he was arrested for impairment.
Last Friday, Eureka police booked a man into the Humboldt County Jail for being under the influence of drugs or alcohol. He was examined and medically cleared by staff and placed in a sobering-safety cell. Per department policy, he was checked every 15 minutes. But around 4 pm, an officer noticed the man was unresponsive.The man was transported to the hospital where he later died. An autopsy will be performed to determine the cause of death.
