Interim City Manager to serve Arcata during search
ARCATA- The Arcata City Council has chosen to appoint an interim city manager while they continue their search. The council has chosen the city's Director of Finance, Janet Luzzi, for the position while the council completes the interview process and hires someone permanently.
Mayor Mark Wheetley said the council will take official action on appointing Luzzi at their next council meeting on July 2nd.For the past two days the council has been meeting in closed session. Wheetley said they have been conducting phone interviews with candidates out of the area.
Current city manager, Randy Mendosa, is set to retire on July 7th.
