Accused Eureka Police Department Sergeant, Adam Laird's attorneys were told to wait until their regular Judge was back to move forward with the motions they filed.
The defense attorney filed motions previously, that were expected to be continued Wednesday.
Laird was arrested in April after a joint investigation by Eureka Police and the Humboldt County District Attorney’s office that looked into his actions of alleged assault while he was on duty, and then filing a false report about the incident.
Laird has been a sergeant with eureka police since 2011. He remains on paid leave until the case comes to a close.
