Klamath construction projects expected to stir economic growth
KLAMATH- The Yurok Tribe is working to complete two additional construction projects in addition to their hotel and casino.
Tribal officials said the region has not seen this much development since before the 1964 flood.
The hotel was completed this year and now construction continues on two projects. The Yurok Visitors Center is close to completion. The center will feature information about the area for tourists as well as information about the tribe and their history.
Construction has begun at the Justice Center, which is part of the tribe's court system. Both projects are along Klamath Boulevard.
The projects will be completed next year and the tribe says bring several jobs to the region. Vice Chairperson Susan Masten said the projects will bring jobs to the area. "It's exciting for the tribe," she said.
