Local cattle ranchers attend Livestock and Range Health Seminar
EUREKA- The ‘Livestock and Range Health’ Seminar for local cattle ranches took place Wednesday morning, at the Humboldt County Agriculture Center on Humboldt Hill.
The meeting was organized for livestock producers in Humboldt and Del Norte Counties. Some of the topics covered include heard and range health, live stock grazing, the new Farm Bill, and of course the current drought situation in California.
To help local ranchers and farmers with drought relief, the Farm Service Agency introduced the Emergency Conservation Program (ECP). According to agency officials, the ECP is a cost-share assistance program for eligible producers during periods of severe drought.
To find out more about the ECP, you can contact the Humboldt-Del Norte County Farm Service Agency at 442-6058 Ext. 2. The deadline to schedule an on-site visit is March 27th.
