LEGGETT- The local Humboldt/Del Norte Chapter of the Red Cross has been helping evacuation efforts in Mendocino County while the Lodge Lightning Complex fire burns.
On Friday, local volunteers helped at the evacuation center in Leggett. On Wednesday, the team helped to close the shelter but remain on stand by. Barbara Caldwell, the Executive Director of the local chapter said shelter and leadership teams are ready to go when needed.
Five local volunteers were at the shelter and one volunteer remains at the fire attending the daily briefings to see if additional support is needed.
