Local woman receives special honor from Washington D.C.
EUREKA- A local woman is honored for her work with the North Coast Veterans Honor Flight. On Wednesday, Mary Barber was presented with the actual flag that flew over the Nations Capitol on Veterans Day this year, to recognize all the volunteer hours and personal financing put into the honor flight program. All together, Barber has helped to bring over 300 WWII and Korean War Veterans to Washington, D.C., all at no charge to them. This year a trip is planned for the month of May to take 50 veterans to D.C.
