Loleta woman arrested for vehicle theft in Spruce Point

SPRUCE POINT- A Eureka police officer made an arrest on the way to work on Wednesday night after spotting a reportedly stolen vehicle on the roadway.

The Jeep Cherokee was reportedly stolen out of Eureka on Tuesday.  Around 9:30 p.m., the officer pulled the vehicle over near the intersection of Humboldt Hill and South Broadway. The female driver and male passenger were ordered out of the SUV at gunpoint. The driver, 18-year-old Corynn Kennedy of Loleta, was arrested on multiple charges, including vehicle theft and possession of methamphetamine. The male passenger was detained but released after questioning.
