Maggie Fleming to be next Humboldt County District Attorney
HUMBOLDT COUNTY- Maggie Fleming will be the next Humboldt County District Attorney.
Fleming received 61 percent of the vote, with more than 13,000 votes in total. In second place was Elan Firpo, with almost 26 percent of the vote. Allan Dollison received just over 8 percent and Arnie Klein had almost 5 percent. Fleming spent 25 years as a Deputy District Attorney and has served as the Deputy County Counsel the last two years. On Tuesday night, before the final results came in, Fleming told News Channel 3 what her plans were if she won the election.
"Initially, I think I would meet with Paul (Gallegos) and start discussing some of the issues that face the office. And also, I would like very soon to sit down and look at the budget issues with him and start discussing that," said Fleming.
