Main fundraiser for Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods to be held this weekend
EUREKA- Community members are invited to come to the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods’ main fundraiser of the year this weekend.
The 17th annual Bids for Kids Dinner and Auction will be held this Saturday at the Elks Lodge in Eureka, which is located at 445 Herrick Avenue. A dinner, silent auction and live auction will be held at the event. At the auctions, everything from local art to an African Safari will be sold. The Champion of Youth will be honored as well. This year’s champion is Loleta resident Barbara Groom, who helped sustain and grow the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods Loleta Clubhouse. Organizers hope to raise $60,000 at this year’s Bids for Kids Dinner and Auction.
"The Boys and Girls Club is definitely in need of this fundraiser. It's not only a great venue to be able to have community members come together in a fun venue, but also, it's one tenth of our budget. So to not have this fundraiser would certainly make a financial impact, and we'd have to make some decisions," said Liz Smith, the Executive Director of the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods.
Tickets must be purchased by Friday. You can order them by going to the Boys and Girls Club of the Redwoods’ main office, located at 939 Harris Street in Eureka. You can also visit bgcredwoods.org
