Major injury collision on Highway 36 West of Carlotta

CARLOTTA- An out of area man was taken to the hospital last night with major injuries after crashing his vehicle into a tree on Highway 36.
The 36 year old man was driving a 1998 Mercury Grand Marquis East near Fox Creek Road around 8 last night. For unknown reasons, his car veered off of the road and into a tree.

According to the California Highway Patrol, the man sustained severe injuries including several broken bones. Officers are still investigating whether drugs or alcohol were factors.
