Man accused of assaulting U.S. Forest Service Officer appears in court
EUREKA- The man accused of assaulting a US Forest Service Officer on Highway 36 in March appeared in court on Thursday for a preliminary hearing.
In May, Silverio Sanchez pled not guilty to charges in the case, which include attempted murder. On Thursday, the defense attorney for Sanchez requested the preliminary hearing be moved back to a later time. Two witness intimidation counts were added to the case at the last hearing, and the defense attorney says he has not had the chance to review that evidence. Now, the preliminary hearing has been moved to August 6th.
