Man accused of shooting deputy in Shelter Cove pleads not guilty
The man accused of shooting a sheriff’s deputy earlier this week in Shelter Cove has plead not guilty to attempted murder.
Fifty-five-year-old William Nelson allegedly shot a Humboldt County Sheriff’s Deputy in the chest while deputies were serving Nelson a notice to vacate the premises. That deputy has been released from the hospital and is expected to return to duty within the week. Nelson has also denied the special allegation of using a firearm in the commission of a felony. His next court date is set for May 15th.
