Man arrested in Hoopa after domestic argument leads to shots being fired
Hoopa - One man has been arrested in Hoopa after allegedly firing off shots during a domestic argument with his girlfriend.
Authorities arrested 19-year-old Travis Watson. The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Department says they were called Friday at 8 a.m. to a home on Pine Creek Road. The mother of the girlfriend said her daughter got in a fight with Watson and asked him to leave. When he wouldn’t, she picked up a broomstick, brandished it at him and told him to leave again. That’s when Watson allegedly pulled out a semi-automatic handgun, and threatened to shoot the victim. After a standoff, Watson left the house. However, as he drove away, shots were heard being fired.
Watson was found by law enforcement and charged with brandishing a firearm, and terrorist threats. He was booked into the county jail with bail set at $50,000.
