Man arrested for vandalizing police station, spitting on officer

ARCATA- A Southern California man was arrested Wednesday morning in Arcata for allegedly vandalizing the police station, then spitting in the face of the arresting officer.

Police say around 9 a.m. an officer was pulling into the parking lot of the police department when he saw 37 year old Joshua Eric Wilkes vandalizing city property and the back door of the department. As he was being placed in the patrol car, Wilkes allegedly spat on the officer.

He was booked into the jail on charges of vandalism and battery on an officer. He was also wanted for a probation warrant out of Hawaii.
