Man in custody following domestic violence involving shotgun in Garberville
GARBERVILLE- A man is arrested on multiple charges in Garberville following a domestic dispute that involved a shotgun.
The Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a 911 call of domestic violence in progress on Sawmill Road at about 9 a.m. on Wednesday. The female caller told the dispatcher her husband attacked her and was trying to shoot her with a shotgun. The dispatcher heard a gun shot, and at that point, the victim said she thought her husband shot himself, because he had put the gun in his mouth during the altercation, as well as pointed it at her. The victim told deputies her husband choked her, slammed her to the ground and slammed her head into a china cabinet, as well.
A sheriff’s deputy and officers with the California Highway Patrol arrested 32-year-old Neptaly Martinez-Castillo without incident. His charges include assault with a firearm and terrorist threats. He is in the Humbolt County Jail with a bail of $100,000.
