Man in custody following vehicle pursuit in Arcata
ARCATA- A McKinleyville man is in custody following a vehicle pursuit in Arcata early Tuesday morning.
Police say 39-year-old Daniel Christie was on a motorcycle near the Arcata Plaza at about 1:30 a.m., when officers attempted to pull him over for vehicle code violations. Authorities say he didn’t stop, and led police on a short vehicle pursuit. Christie eventually fled on foot in the 300 block of Park Avenue after losing control of his vehicle.
Christie was then taken into custody after a brief struggle with officers. The motorcycle Christie was riding was reported stolen to the CHP out of McKinleyville in July. He was booked into the Hhumboldt County Jail on multiple charges, including reckless evading.
Should the Humboldt County Correctional Facility provide more re-entry fairs for prisoners?
