HYDESVILLE- A Hydesville home directly across from the elementary school was allegedly housing marijuana and firearms. The Humboldt County Drug task force served a search warrant on the home at 8:30 Tuesday morning after complaints from parents saying they had smelt marijuana and seen strange cars at the home.
According to Sgt. Bryan Quenell of the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office, parents were concerned about the safety of their children. Quenell said that the principle of the school had been informed before the search was underway and said there was no threat to the school or students.
One man was arrested, Christopher Carr, 27 was charged with six separate felonies: cultivation, possession for sale, child endangerment, possession of an assault weapon, armed in commission of a felony and possession of an illegal magazine. Carr has been booked in the Humboldt County Jail with bail set at $50,000.
