On 1-28-2014, approximately 7:48 p.m., the Humboldt County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a home invasion robbery that just occurred in the 4500 block of Salmon Creek Road, Miranda.
When deputies arrived at the residence they met with the two victims, a 62 year old man and his 60 year old wife. The victims were not injured. The victims told the deputies they were at home earlier in the evening when they heard a knock at their front door. They male victim answered the door and was met by a Hispanic male suspect who was holding a piece of paper and told him he was lost. The male suspect then pointed a firearm at the victim and asked who else was in the residence. The male victim told him his wife was at home. The suspect told the male victim to call her, which he did. Both victims were then directed at gunpoint to get onto the floor of the residence. Blankets were thrown over their heads and they heard additional suspects enter the residence, estimated to be four or five suspects all wearing full faced ski masks. The victim’s legs and feet were bound, while their heads were covered. The suspects then demanded to know where the marijuana and cash was kept. The suspects stole 7 pounds of processed marijuana, several firearms and several thousand dollars of cash from the victims. The suspects ransacked the victim’s residence during the robbery. The suspects also referred to themselves by numbers instead of names. Deputies found evidence at the scene consistent with the victims account as to what occurred.
