McKinleyville man arrested for assault with a deadly weapon
MCKINLEYVILLE - A McKinleyville man was arrested after he allegedly threatened several people with a loaded gun during a domestic argument.
Taken into custody was 20-year old Nicky Dean Bjorkstrand. Around 1:30 Friday afternoon, sheriff’s deputies say they were called to Roger’s Market on School road after a woman had run into a store screaming for help. Bjorkstrand then followed her inside, and brandished a 32-caliber handgun pointing it at a customer and then an employee before running out the door with the woman to a nearby apartment building.
A short time later, he was found by law enforcement and booked into the county jail for assault with a deadly weapon, a convicted felon in possession of a firearm, and for brandishing a firearm.
No one was injured in the incident. The female victim refused to give a statement or cooperate with authorities.
