Authorities are looking for three suspects in an alleged stabbing that injured a McKinleyville man in his home early Monday morning. According to the Humboldt County Sheriff's office the 23-year-old was stabbed multiple times in the back on the 2500 block of Daffodil Road and is recovering in stable condition.

According to Lt. Steve Knight of the Humboldt County Sheriff's Office deputies responded to a 911 call that reported a man yelling about his back hurting and trying to force his way into their home.

"The citizens had actually been stabbed in the back multiple times and was seeking medical attention," said Knight.

The victim told deputies he had gone to his house to hang out with the three suspects after leaving a bar on the Arcata plaza. Knight said the victim did not know the suspects names and described them as two white female adults and one white male adult.  "He didn't have much information for the officers," said Knight.

The Sheriff's office found a bloody knife in the driveway where they believe the altercation began. Investigators obtained a search warrant and were investigating the home Monday afternoon.

Residents nearby said the neighborhood is normally quiet. "We don't have any problems with the neighbors. This is the first time anything like this has happened before," said Miranda Stevens, who lives across the street from where police were investigating.

Knight said Sheriff's detectives are working on the case and no additional descriptions of the suspects are available at this time.
