McKinleyville Organizers Push Forward With Safety Plan
Over 250 community members came together to create a plan for making Central Avenue safer for bicyclists and pedestrians. The action meeting was held Wednesday night with community organizers and residents telling county and elected officials their concerns.
Tom Mattson, Director of the County Department of Public Works, Supervisor Ryan Sundberg, of the Humboldt Board of Supervisors, and Ben Shepherd, Chair of the McKinleyville Municipal Advisory Committee (McKMAC) all attended the meeting.
Organizers set out a plan that will get the safety project started next year and completed in 2016. The group will meet again in January to go over the plan again.
