HUMBOLDT COUNTY- At Tuesday night’s Eureka City Council meeting, the newest member of the city council announced that he’s working to bring cruise ships to the North Coast.

At the recent Seatrade Cruise Shipping Convention in Florida, representatives of different cruise lines had the chance to see a display on everything Humboldt has to offer.  Councilmember Chet Albin says representatives from multiple cruise lines are interested in using the Port of Humboldt Bay in the future. Councilmember Albin says they still need to speak with engineers to find out exactly what would need to be done in order to prepare the port to hold cruise ships before further action can be taken.
