Middle School Students experience college for a day
EUREKA- Thousands of middle school students will visit College of the Redwoods classrooms to experience college first hand. The college will host 'I've been admitted to college' day, where students get to pick a technical training program and shadow in a classroom for a day.
Students participated in several programs, including dental assistance, wood working and auto mechanics programs. The students were also instructed on how to plan and prepare for college.
Hillary Reed, the Dental Assisting Program Coordinator said students should start thinking about whether or not they will attend college in middle school. "It's kind of like job shadowing, but in a controlled environment," she said.
