Motel manager in Eureka charged with assault with a deadly weapon

EUREKA- The manager of a local motel has been arrested and charged with assault with a deadly weapon, after reportedly injuring a woman with a pellet gun.

Officials with the Eureka Police Department say on Monday evening, officers responded to a motel on the 2400 block of Broadway for a report of an assault. The victim told police that the manager of the motel, identified as 19-year-old Eureka resident Tina Nash, pointed a rifle type gun at the victim while the victim was waiting for a friend in the motel driveway. The victim said she then heard what sounded like a pellet gun shot go off and she immediately felt pain on her chin. The victim was treated and released from Saint Joseph Hospital with a small wound to her lower jaw and lip.  Police are still investigating a motive.
