Motorcyclist crashes after pursuit with Arcata officer
ARCATA- A motorcyclist is recovering from a crash after a pursuit with an Arcata Police Officer.
According to the department, at 10:30 p.m. Monday an officer stopped a motorcycle with two riders on highway 101 at North Bank Road for a registration violation. The rider stopped and allowed the back passenger to get off, but then took off.
The motorcyclist led the officer onto North Bank Road, but lost control of his bike on Azalea Ave. He received moderate injuries and was taken by ambulance to Mad River Hospital.
The driver was Larry Blake,53, of McKinleyville. He was arrested and is currently on Humboldt County probation.
