A motorcyclist is sent to the hospital after colliding with a deer near Bridgeville.
Just before noon Wednesday, California highway patrol says 67-year old Larry Dwayne Burris of Kelseyville was driving a 2000 Yamaha motorcycle east on highway 36 when a deer ran into his path of travel. A collision occurred and Burris sustained a broken ankle and was transported to Redwood Memorial Hospital.
Authorities say he was wearing proper protective gear at the time of the accident and DUI is not a factor. Calfire, Caltrans, Bridgeville Volunteer Fire Department and City Ambulance assisted the CHP. The accident is still under investigation.
