Motorcyclist crashes into van, one taken to hospital
EUREKA- A motorcyclist was taken to the hospital Monday night after colliding into a van. It happened on Broadway and Tomlinson just after 5 p.m. Eureka police said Shannon Ray, 40 of Wolf Creek, Ore. was driving a Boyd’s Coffee company vehicle when the crash happened.
Officers said Ray was in the middle of turning left into the northbound lane of Broadway when the motorcyclist driving southbound on Broadway crashed into the van. According to witnesses the motorcyclist slammed on his brakes and flew over the handlebars into the van’s drivers-side door. The motorcyclist was taken to the hospital with unknown injuries. Police believe speed does not appear to be a factor.
