Motorcyclist sustains major injuries in Eureka collision
EUREKA- A motorcyclist was hospitalized with major injuries on Tuesday after being struck by a vehicle on I Street in Eureka.
It happened around 11:45 a.m. at the intersection of I and Russ Streets. A 43 year old Hoopa man traveling in the middle lane of I Street in a Toyota pick up truck attempted to make a turn left onto Russ street. He struck the motorcyclist, who was traveling in the left hand land lane.
The victim, a 38 year old Eureka man, was transported to St. Joseph Hospital. Drugs or alcohol are not factors in the collision at this time. Both drivers were unlicensed.
Traffic was down to one lane on I street for about an two hours.
