Name released of man who died after being pulled out of Humboldt Bay

EUREKA- The name has been released of the man who died after being pulled out of Humboldt Bay on Monday morning.

The Coroner’s Office confirms 61-year-old Humboldt County resident Kenneth Eldor Baszler is the man who died in the incident.  The Coast Guard along with other agencies responded to the report of a man in the water between Woodley Island and Indian Island just after 5 a.m. on Monday.  Coast Guard rescuers pulled Baszler out of the water and performed CPR.  He was then taken to Saint Joseph Hospital, where he was pronounced dead before 6 a.m. on Monday.  

Authorities do not know how he ended up in the water or his cause of death.  Coroner’s Office officials state this death does not appear to be criminal in nature and an autopsy will performed on Wednesday at 10 a.m.
