Some local schools will be getting over one hundred thousand dollars, thanks to the “North Coast Fuel Your School Program,” A collaboration by national and local oil companies. During the month of October, if gas customers purchased eight or more gallons of fuel, one dollar of their total bill was donated to public schools in Humboldt, Del Norte and Mendocino Counties. Over one hundred fifty schools in all have benefited from the program started by Chevron USA, Inc., The Redwood Oil Company, Redwood Coast Petroleum and DonorsChoose.org.
