EUREKA- A natural gas leak closed down the 3200 block of California Street Tuesday morning. Humboldt Bay Fire officials responded to a vacant lot just before 10:30 a.m. in Eureka.
Fire officials said it was a ‘moderate’ leak caused by city work crews. The crew was removing debris from the area, when they struck a gas line and damaged the pipe. PG&E was called out to make repairs. Traffic was blocked off for 45 minutes.
