New App program coming for Forest Service

People wanting to visit our national forests and grassland will soon have a new app available to make trip planning easier. The Forest Service is currently working on the first phase of a website redesign. It’s expected to debut early in 2014. The web site is a map-based tool for planning trips.Additionally, P-D-F Maps Mobile App, developed by Avenza Systems Inc. will be available free from I-Tunes and the Android play store.The app will provide access to Forest Service maps which are free while pages from the national forest atlases are 99-cents. Prices are pending on other maps.
