New partnership brings grass fed beef to local food bank
EUREKA- Food For People has teamed up with the Jacoby Creek Land Trust to bring grass fed beef to the local food bank.
The pilot project started about a year ago. The first shipment of over 1500 pounds of grass fed beef arrived this week, and Tuesday Food For People started distributing the product. All the cattle are raised in Humboldt County at the Jacoby Creek Land Trust property on Old Arcata Road in Bayside.
"This is something that came out of some conversations with the
Humboldt County food policy council over the past year; looking at building both a sustainable food system, and finding a way to make good healthy food accessible to all regardless of income.” said Anne Holcomb, Executive Director, Food For People.
