DEL NORTE COUNTY- In order to improve the safety for its staff, Del Norte County Sheriff’s deputies are driving around in brand new rides. All together the sheriff’s office received five new patrol cars, each costing about $40,000 dollars.
Funding for the new fleet came from the county and the Smith River Rancheria, which secured funding for two of the five vehicles. According to the sheriff’s office, their old vehicles were unsafe to drive. The old fleet was seven years old, and all over 250,000 miles.
Do you think the bicycle buffer law will make it more safe for cyclists?
