New York residents' car burglarized at Redwood National and State Parks
ORICK- Out of town visitors get items stolen from their car while walking on a trail in the redwoods.
On Saturday morning, two Long Island, New York residents were walking on a trail off the Newton B. Drury Redwood Scenic Parkway in Redwood National and State Parks. Ken and Theresa Hessel say when they were almost finished with their hike, they heard what sounded like gunshots nearby. When the couple got back to their car, they saw one of the windows was smashed, and a purse and a National Park Passport Book had been stolen. In the book is a collection of stamps from parks from all over the country they collected over the past 20 years. They say they saw a silver sports sedan speeding away from the area.
