Next Eureka City Manager set to begin on May 1st
EUREKA- Everything is in place for the next Eureka City Manager to begin working next month.
At Tuesday night’s Eureka City Council meeting, council members unanimously voted to approve the employment contract for Greg Sparks. Sparks has already agreed to the terms of the contract, and the background investigation process for him was completed in mid March. Sparks has worked in city manager or administrator positions in seven different cities. He will continue to serve as City Manager for the City of West Des Moines, Iowa, until April 18th. The mayor of Eureka, Frank Jager, says he is excited for sparks to start.
"He has got a good track record in the city where he's worked. We did a pretty thorough investigation of his background in prior cities and people that he's worked with and he comes very highly recommended. So I think he'll do a good job here, too," said Mayor Jager.
Greg Sparks’ first day as Eureka City Manager will be on May 1st.
