Next Humboldt State President Announced; Dr. Rossbacher to start in July

ARCATA- California State Board of Trustees have appointed Dr. Lisa A. Rossbacher as the next President of Humboldt State University. Rossbacher is currently the President of Southern Polytechnic University in Marietta, Georgia.

Rossbacher started her career as associate vice president of Academic Affairs, at California State Polytechnic University, Pomona. She said she had lived in Southern California for two decades.

She is the seventh and first woman president of the 100 year university and will replace Rollin Richmond who has been President of the university for 12 years.

Rossbacher said she has visited the campus as soon as this months and plans to visit the campus in the upcoming weeks.

She said she will focus on building onto the universities success, and focus on the natural sciences and art community.
