November unemployment in Del Norte County lowest since 2007
CRESCENT CITY - Del Norte County is enjoying its lowest unemployment rate in almost eight years.
The numbers are out and county officials are pleased. At 9.3 percent, Del Norte’s unemployment rate is still much higher than the state average of 7.2 percent. However, it’s the best November since the jobless rate was 8.4 percent before the recession in 2007.
The county is up 270 jobs in the past twelve months with government adding another 190 positions. Del Norte moved up one slot to 45 among the 58 counties in the state. Marin County has the lowest rate at 3.9 percent. Other neighboring county rates are Humboldt – 6.9 percent, Shasta – 8.1 percent, Trinity – 8.2 percent and Mendocino at 6.3 percent
